Winter is underway at our local restaurants, many who have taken some time during stick season for a rest and deep cleaning. While we might not see a burst of ski tourism this week due to our false mud season, we’re still in the throes of short days, which makes me at least averse to cooking. Here’s what local restaurants are open for dinner this week.
In Rochester, Maple Soul will be open its usual hours from Wednesday through Saturday from 5 until 9, for both dining in and takeout. Be sure to check their website for the week’s menu.
Doc’s and Huntington House remain closed until January 14 for renovations and cleaning, so plan accordingly!
In Pittsfield, the Clear River Tavern is keeping its usual hours Wednesday through Sunday, open at 3:00 PM. And the Waybury Inn in East Middlebury is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday at 4:00 PM.
But it’s Tuesday and you’re hungry — it’s either cooking at home or going farther afield. Take-out opens in the Mad River Valley include Mad Taco, Blue Stone, and China Fun. In Middlebury, try Magic Wok, Rosie’s, or Two Brothers Tavern.
What do you usually do for Tuesday dinner? Will you dine out this week? Do you have any tricks for weeknight take-out to our quiet valley? Let me know!
